
The Labor Department released data Friday showing the United States added a net 1.3 million jobs in the first quarter of 2020.
The job gains were mainly in the service and manufacturing industries.
The numbers also show the labor force expanded by a net 579,000 workers in the fourth quarter of the year.
The U.K. had the largest gain in the U.N. population, with a net gain of 1.4 million people in the year to date.
It added the largest number of people since the start of the recession.
